Adisseo is adding a new brand to its animal nutrition portfolio: AdiSodium™
Since April 15th, Adisseo offers to its customers, AdiSodium™, a chloride free sodium sulphate, the cost effective source of a sodium without chloride for monogastrics and the safe source of sulphur for ruminants.
AdiSodium™, with a 32 % Na, improves DEB (Dietary Electrolyte Balance = Na+K-Cl) with positive effects on poultry and swine performances, the same way as sodium bicarbonate as proven by in vivo trials achieved by the Research team. Sodium cost in the formula can be reduced by 30% at least.
Compared with sodium bicarbonate, AdiSodium™ procures additional benefits on poultry litter pH and ammonia emissions, A trial achieved in CERN showed that, replacing sodium bicarbonate by sodium sulfate leads to a decrease from 6,8 to 6,6 of the litter pH, and from 16,00 to 4,5 ppm of the ammonia emissions.
From this experience, increasing DEB with AdiSodium™ is likely to contribute to prevent too high urinary pH which are implicated in urinary infections of sows.
AdiSodium™ also has the great benefit to limit dietary buffer effect at the upper digestive tract compared to sodium bicarbonate. Lower buffer effect means better protein digestibility and obvious increase of organic acids efficacy.
AdiSodium™ with 22% sulphur, is also a safe source of sulphur for highly productive ruminants, balancing nitrogen to sulphur ratio to achieve higher microbial protein synthesis. Compared to elemental sulphur, AdiSodium is much more bioavailable because of the sulphate form. AdiSodium has much less impact on the DCAD (Dietary Cation Anion Difference = Na+K-Cl-S) than elemental sulphur, therefore it also reduces the need for sodium bicarbonate.
AdiSodium™ is dedicated to feed applications, being a functional feed material, managed under Fami-QS certification no. 6006817-1 and compatible for purchasing by GMP+ companies. AdiSodium™ is available in bulks, bigbags and paperbags.
